Help Israel!

Below are support options to bring relief to Israel:

www.urj.org (URJ’s Israel Emergency Fund) Your donation to the 2006 Israel Emergency Fund of the Union for Reform Judaism will be used to (a) send children from northern Israel to youth villages/summer camps located further south; (b) assist Magen David Adom to provide emergency medical treatment to those wounded by terrorist bombings; and (c) provide funds to Israeli Progressive synagogues for counseling and other services to the general population in their communities.  The full amount of your donation, minus any credit card charges, will be used for this crisis.

www.ujafedny.org (UJA-Federation of NY Israel Emergency Campaign) UJA-Federation of NY has established the Israel Solidarity Fund. Donations to this fund will provide direct aid to survivors of attacks and their families; provide safe haven for families in the most vulnerable areas; support immigrant soldiers who do not have family nearby; and provide trauma services to violence-stricken areas

http://www.haifaemergencycampaign.com (Haifa Emergency Campaign), organized by the municipality of Haifa, which will fund three emergency needs: sending Haifa’s children to special summer camps set up in southern Israel; assistance to elderly and sick residents who have been left without food and/or medical care as well as those who rely on homecare; and, emergency loans to small business owners to prevent financial collapse and make their payrolls while their stores and businesses remain closed.  Donate at Haifa Emergency Campaign or mail your tax-deductible check to The Haifa Foundation N.A., c/o Herbert Rose, Rose & Boxer, 1065 Ave. of the Americas, Ste. 410, NYC 10018.   http://www.haifaemergencycampaign.com

If you would like to make a financial donation to support IDF soldiers specifically, consider the following:

          (1) http://www.Apackagefromhome.org which sends candy and toiletries

          (2) http://www.Burgeridf.org (burgers and pizza delivered to IDF troops!)

          (3) Friends of the IDF (based in New York City).  If you do not have access to the internet the contact person is Sivan Kariv: 212.244.3118 ext. 19 who would process your donation through the phone, sivan@israelsoldiers.org, or go directly to http://www.israelsoldiers.org

Another ways to support are through gifts of personal articles - toiletries, sun tan lotion, shaving cream, underwear, socks, etc. - to individuals serving active duty in the IDF. Enclosing a personal note of support would be terrific.  Gift packages can be mailed from the U.S. to Israel where they will be distributed to IDF members.  Packages can be sent to:

(1) AWIS-Overseas Dept. 60 Weitzman St., Tel-Aviv 62155 Israel.

(2) Beit Hachayal 60 Weitzman Street Tel Aviv 62155, Israel.
